How to Pack and Send Your Tapes

Please follow these simple instructions when sending your tapes to us. Your tapes may be a mixture of VHS, VHS-C, Hi8, Video8, MiniDV and other formats, so the most important thing is to make sure they are secure, protected and cannot move around inside the box.

1Choose the right box

Up to 10 tapes

Approx. 300 × 200 × 150 mm

Use a strong cardboard box. A double-wall box is recommended.

11–20 tapes

Approx. 400 × 300 × 200 mm

Use a strong double-wall cardboard box where possible.

21–30+ tapes

For larger orders, we recommend splitting the tapes between two or more boxes rather than putting a very large number of tapes into one heavy box.

As a guide, use approximately 400 × 300 × 200 mm per box, depending on the mixture of tape sizes.

2Protect your tapes

You do not need to individually wrap every tape.

  • Place the tapes together, preferably inside a strong plastic bag.
  • Place some bubble wrap, packing paper or similar protective material around the tapes.
  • Fill any empty space inside the box so the tapes cannot move around during transport.
  • If you have a mixture of tape sizes, place the larger/heavier VHS tapes at the bottom and smaller tapes such as Hi8, VHS-C and MiniDV above or beside them.
  • Do not place heavy objects on top of the tapes.

3Seal the box securely

Close the box firmly and use strong packing tape to seal all openings.

Please make sure the box is strong enough for the number and weight of tapes inside.

4Write your order number on the box

Important: please clearly write your Digitapes order number on the outside of the package.

For example: ORDER #1047

This allows us to quickly identify your tapes when they arrive.
