Why should I convert old media to digital?
Tapes, discs and film degrade over time. Converting to digital protects your memories from being lost for good, and makes them easy to share, watch and store.
How do you convert old media to digital?
We play your original tapes, discs or film through broadcast-grade equipment, capture a high-quality digital transfer, and clean up noise and dropout along the way before handing back both the digital files and your originals.
Can I convert old tapes and media myself?
You can with the right (often expensive) equipment, but results vary a lot and playback can damage fragile old tapes. Our equipment and experience means a cleaner transfer with less risk to your originals.
Can I play the converted files on my phone or smart TV?
Yes — your files are delivered in common formats (like MP4) that play on phones, tablets, smart TVs, and computers, along with a shareable Dropbox link.
What types of old media can you convert?
VHS, VHS-C, Video8, Hi8, Digital8, MiniDV, cine film, cassette tapes, reel-to-reel audio, MiniDisc, DVD and Blu-ray — if you're not sure, get in touch and we'll let you know.
My old media is over 30 years old - can it still be converted?
In most cases, yes. We repair and clean tapes before digitising, and our equipment is built to handle aged and fragile media. If a tape is beyond saving we'll always let you know before starting work.
What kind of quality can I expect from digital conversion?
We use professional-grade capture equipment and enhance each transfer for clarity and colour, so you'll get the best possible quality your original media can offer.
Can I get more than one copy of my converted media?
Yes, additional digital copies and physical copies (USB or DVD) are available — just let us know how many you'd like when you place your order.
